I don't think any place gets a fair shake on Day 1... the fact that all the trans-atlantic flights land at oh-dark-early is just bad. Thankfully our hotel allowed us to check in at 8am (stash our bags), and fed us the "traditional?" Irish breakfast (2 eggs, toast, cereal, 2 sausage links, a tomato.. enough to power a horse all day long). From there it was out and about to explore Dublin.
